I'm Kadu Pinheiro from Brazil. Underwater photography has been my passion—and my profession—since 2004, and I'm excited to be part of this community.

I shoot with a Nikon D500 in an Aquatica housing, focusing mainly on reefs, sharks, and wide-angle photography, although I also enjoy cave diving and macro whenever the opportunity comes up. Professionally, I'm the Editor-in-Chief of Nitrox Magazine (IANTD's official magazine) and the Marketing Director for Blue Force Fleet, so I'm almost always thinking about diving, whether I'm shooting, writing, or creating content.

I've been fortunate enough to dive and photograph incredible destinations, including Indonesia, the Maldives, Red Sea, Saudi Arabia, Malásia, Seychelles, Cocos Island, Galápagos, Malpelo, Revillagigedo, the Caribbean islands, Mexico, the United States, and many more. I'm always happy to talk about underwater photography, gear, techniques, marine life, or simply swap stories about unforgettable dives.

I'm looking forward to learning from everyone here, sharing experiences, and hopefully contributing something useful along the way.

My name is Stephen Pacetti and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have been diving and taking underwater photos/video for over 30 years. I started out with an Ikelite Aquashot that used a disposable camera loaded with ISO 400 print film. Next was a Nikon N70 film camera in an Ikelite housing. As the digital photography era arrived, I started with an Olympus C-5050 (5 megapixels!), and progressed onto a Olympus C-8080 (Light and Motion Tetra), Nikon D100 (Subal), Nikon D200 (Subal) and Nikon D7100 (Nauticam). As I wanted to dabble in underwater video I shifted over to a Panasonic GH5 and then a GH5 II (Nauticam). Now, I am using a Sony A7IV for stills and a Sony ZV-E1 (both Nauticam) for video. For editing, I use Lightroom and DaVinci Resolve. Alas however, my age and medical status are beginning to slow down my diving. I hope to continue and look forward to this site for inspiration. My local diving is in Monterey, CA which is cold water, but can be very good depending on the conditions which are highly variable. And I have done warm water trips to many of the popular places. I was (am) a member of Wetpixel, but finally realized that site doesn't work anymore. If you have any questions about diving in Monterey please let me know!

I’m a long-time overland photographer just starting my journey into capturing images under the surface. I came across waterpixels whilst trying to find out what was happening to what had appeared to be a major online resource for underwater photography and I’m glad to have made the discovery! I’m in full information consumption mode and very much looking forward to the learning curve of applying what I’ve learned in the last 25 years to a very different environment.

I’m based in the North of England so a lot of my diving is in cold water with less-than-ideal vis but I occasionally to manage to get abroad and out of my dry suit

I used to be a very active diver for 25+ years, read and post on good ol' wetpixel, but then reduced my diving to just a handful of dives per year - just did not have enough time.

Now that I am retired I hope to be more active again!

I'm primarily here to use the classifieds to try and offload some gear I'm upgrading from, but as I start to take this hobby more seriously I realize this is also probably a great resource for overcoming some of my current challenges!

My wife and I started diving about two and half years ago and have made a number of dive centric trips since (Curaçao, Roatan, Cozumel, Belize, West Palm). Our next big trip is a north route live aboard in the Red Sea. I got started with photography after our first big trip to curaçao. I brought a DJI Osmo 4 with no expectations and no real knowledge and realized a few things: I'm never going to watch videos but I will definitely hang photos on my walls, and this shit is hard and I'll need some proper equipment for wall-worthy photos.

I got an e-m10 mk iv with a couple compact AOI strobes and a wide angle wet lens and have been at it for our past three vacations. There's definitely times where I think "not much new and interesting to shoot today, maybe I'd just be happier leaving the camera and focusing on diving..." and then random magic happens. I know very little about photography but I have tried to learn some basics about exposure and framing, and I generally try to trust my instincts and take advantage of the opportunities I have. I think this is primarily a numbers game where you take as many photos as you possibly can, and if you're lucky maybe 1-2% of them will be worth sharing.

My biggest struggle right now as I move on from an auto editing app into real photo editing software is with color correction and masking. Hopefully I can learn some of that through the resources here.

I am happy to introduce myself to everyone in the Forum. Based in Zurich I dive for just a little under 3 years and was hocked in a way that I still do not understand why I did not get certified before.

I started UW Photography pretty early with at "Frankenstein" second hand SeaFrog Housing for my A7RIII combined with Sea&Sea lashes used Rigging and floats. The thing was a mess but I learned a lot.

I am looking forward to read up on your ideas and to contribute.

I'm based in Germany and again I want to jump back into Underwater Photography. In the past I used a Sony A6300 with some strobes and diopters to shoot some macro. Since the camera was limited when it comes to ergonymics I sold my case and camera. Just keept my storbes (Inon Z330). I still shoot some videos and photos on my GoPro but i still want to come back to shoot macro with a good camera.

So I will just look around and see if I can manage to save enough money to start again. Looking forward for some inspirations.

My name is Alexandre Bello and I'm a hobby nature and wildlife photographer based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Ever since I was a kid, I've been fascinated by the underwater world and its incredible animals. Underwater photography has always been something I wanted to pursue, and over the years I've gradually built up my experience while shooting Sony.
I'm currently making the jump from an Ikelite setup to Nauticam and am excited to take my underwater photography a bit more seriously.

Just wanted to introduce myself, I have been a user of the site for some time and follow a few of the experienced photographers on here.

I am an avid underwater photographer located on the east coast of Australia. I dive locally at least every couple of weeks and have done extensive dive travel in South-east Asia and the Western Pacific.
