<p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#373737;font-size:14px;"> Alexey Zaytsev (Alex) was born in Novosibirsk, Russia and decided to start diving after reading the book “In the World of Silence” by Jacques Yves Cousteau. His first scuba diving experience was in 1984 after graduation from school. He started taking pictures underwater in 1986. </p> <p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#373737;font-size:14px;"> He made by himself in his kitchen the first underwater housing for the Soviet camera “ZENIT.” In 1998, he managed the first publication of underwater photographs in the Russian magazine for divers “Neptune.” </p> <p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#373737;font-size:14px;"> Alexey is an instructor of diving and underwater photography for PADI and CMAS. </p> <p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#373737;font-size:14px;"> From 2002 to 2006 he worked as a journalist, underwater photographer, and editor-in-chief of several popular publications for divers in Russia: Neptune, Octopus, THE ULTIMATE DEPTH and Dive Tech. </p> <p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#373737;font-size:14px;"> Mr. Zaytsev is an author of articles and photos for popular Russian and New Zealand diving and photography magazines: Dive Pacific, Underwater club, Photo & Video, Digital Camera. He’s also a participant in and winner of numerous Russian and international photo contests and photo festivals. </p> <p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#373737;font-size:14px;"> Mr Zaitsev has been teaching underwater photography professionally since 2003. His students have won many awards and honors in underwater photography contests and festivals in Russia. </p> <p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#373737;font-size:14px;"> He has extensive experience in diving and photography training in the Red Sea (Egypt), Thailand (Koh Phangan Island), the island of Bali in Indonesia, New Zealand, Seychelles (Mahe Island) and in Russia. </p> <p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#373737;font-size:14px;"> In 2013, Alexey wrote the book “School of Underwater Photography: A Practical Guide for Beginners.” </p> <p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#373737;font-size:14px;"> In 2018, the second edition of the book entitled “Underwater Photography: A Practical Guide” was published. The book has become a very popular textbook for Russian-speaking underwater photographers. </p> <p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#373737;font-size:14px;"> In 2020, Aleksey’s new book, OLYMPUS TG-6 FOR SCUBA DIVERS, was released. </p> <p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#373737;font-size:14px;"> He was also the founder and administrator of the  Facebook page  “<a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/UWFotoschool" rel="external nofollow" style="background-color:transparent;">School of Underwater Photography by Alexey Zaitsev</a>”.  </p> <p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#373737;font-size:14px;"> Mr. Zaytsev is an Ambassador for the company Olympus, and he uses the OM-D and PEN mirrorless cameras and the TG series compact cameras for shooting. </p> <p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#373737;font-size:14px;"> From 2020 to 2022 Alexey was editor-in-chief of the popular Russian dive magazine THE ULTIMATE DEPTH.  </p> <p style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#373737;font-size:14px;"> After Russia attacked Ukraine, he was forced to emigrate and now lives in Mexico. Alexey currently lives and works in San Miguel, Cozumel Island, Mexico. </p>
