  1. Thanks, I have read your article before. That’s what put the Eckos on my radar. Thanks for the response. Definitely selling the Eckos with that photo and the Roatan pics.
  2. Thanks for the responses. I don’t know how important RCT TTL is to me as I don’t have much frame of reference as to how much better it is than normal TTL (slave?) but had heard it was better. I appreciate the explanation on strengths as I was having difficulty finding the comparisons on my own.
  3. Hi all. Looking at getting into strobes for my TG-5 (currently using BS 4300 video lights which are ok but scare the fish). Mostly focused on Macro and Fish Portraits but not opppsed to some wide angle in the future Currently looking at: Ikelite Ecko Fiber: $500 ea, supports RC TTL, neutral in water YS-D3 Duo: Divervision has for $500 ea, supports RC TTL, slightly larger, reliability a bit more all over the map Inon S220: $400 ea, no RC support, small for travel Thoughts? I am interested in the RC TTL because it seems to be a “better” automated decision maker, I am not super smart in how to do settings but willing to learn as I progress.
  4. Thanks! I am planning to use the onboard flash (I don’t think the TG-5 supports an LED trigger, but if it does I am planning to put more money to strobes vs the trigger)
  5. I am looking to update my video lights with a pair of strobes and have a question about cables. I have a TG-5 w/ PT-058 housing, eventually want to get a wide angle wet lens so was going to purchase the Backscatter flash adaptor linked below to accommodate the lens. https://www.backscatter.com/AOI-FCA-01-Fiber-Optical-Cable-Adapter-for-TG-3-TG-4-TG-5-Cameras It looks like it can accommodate 1 or 2 cables so my question is if I am doing dual strobes is it better to use an individual cable for each strobe or use a single dual cable for both like this https://www.backscatter.com/Backscatter-Dual-Fiber-Optic-Cable-with-Sea-Sea-Ends Or does it not really matter? Thanks.
  6. Oh I know. Currently looking at getting strobes to update my pair of video lights when I was using a go pro.
  7. Awesome do you dive locally?
  8. No idea how that happened and haven’t figured out how to fix it.
  9. Yes I am in South East Connecticut.
  10. Hi all. Been diving since 2015 and starting to get into photography. Have had a go pro and taking frame grabs for about 3 years but recently moved over to a TG-5 for better Macro ability. Looking forward to learning and honing my skills.
