About Me
About Me:

When I was a child, I cried before every swim lesson. I hated the water. Luckily, my mom didn't relent, perhaps because she saw me mesmerized by the Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau every time it was on the TV. I guess she knew not drowning would be a useful skill later in life.

I've pursued nature photography as a hobby since college. I had some commercial success with a (now defunct) stock agency, but as we all know, the big money is in weddings....yuck. In 2018, I became open water certified. Within a couple years, I was squandering my discretionary money on dive gear, trimix and SEALIFE camera equipment. I share my diving images on Instagram, and I make an occasional Shutterfly book for friends. My tripod mostly collects dust now.

I live in northern Michigan, 8 miles from Lake Michigan. Diving here year-round has it's challenges. I finished Saturday's dive in a 10 F blizzard. I need to find another winter hobby, honestly. My favorite dive destination is Saint Martin, where I've made some wonderful dive friendships.
