The i-TURTLE SMART 3 is compatible with the following strobes in TTL and Manual modes via camera menu control.
High-Speed Sync (HSS) is available when enabled in the camera menu and supported by the strobe.Tested and supported strobes:
Ikelite DS160
Inon Z240 / Z330
Sea & Sea YS-D2J MILC
Sea & Sea YS-D3
RETRA PRO-X MILC
Ikelite DS230
Seaflash 160D
Seaflash 60D
RETRA PRO MAX
Apollo 3
Apollo S
AOI UIS P
Backscatter HF-1
Sea & Sea YS-D3 DUO
Note:
The Backscatter HF-1 works in TTL mode if you set it to SONY mode. I personally tested this strobe during a liveaboard trip in the Red Sea in April. For more details and real-world testing photos, check out our blog post:
👉 SMART3 Prototype Testing in the Red Sea
Although most photos feature the AOI UIS P, I also used the HF-1 during the trip. -

HiThese products are now available, but we haven’t given up on making the Canon system work reliably across all camera models. Unfortunately, since Canon’s pre-flash behavior differs from other systems, each trigger must be individually configured for each camera and strobe combination. This is an enormous task.
Manufacturers who tie their Canon triggers to a specific housing or camera body have an advantage, as they only need to focus on one trigger–one body pairing.
As far as I know, currently there is no underwater trigger that works perfectly with all Canon cameras. We’re doing our best.
The manual Turtles in the Series 3 line will be released soon. After that, we’ll be able to focus more on the Canon TTL issue. -

The Manual/TTL switching function is not available on all Sony cameras, and we aimed to find a solution that allows every Sony model to switch underwater between TTL and pre-flash-free modes.
This led us to monitor the "WL" (Wireless) function in the camera's signals, and when it is activated, the system switches to the configured mode. This setting can be customized in the Setup program for Sony cameras. This alternative mode can be set to First Curtain, Rear Curtain, or Strobe mode, which activates between shutter speeds of 1/10 sec and 2 sec.
You can read more about this feature on our blog.

Thank you for the link!
It was an excellent summary, but if I may, I’d like to add a little extra spice.
Thanks to the new optical control system, both the SONY and Olympus TTL RC modes now offer extremely accurate TTL performance.
A few weeks ago, I tested the Sony TTL mode in real-world conditions using Nikon Z8 and Sony A7 IV cameras with our own triggers.
The results were outstanding.
So I can confidently say that a truly exceptional strobe has been created. :)
Additionally, the results of our TTL-side testing approach are available on our website for those interested.

Is there a new firmware to download or is it just purchase a new trigger?
Unfortunately, the firmware cannot be downloaded to the trigger—only the flash settings and a few special features can be adjusted. The firmware can only be downloaded by us.
This is a new product since a complete software replacement was necessary due to the new flash control system.
The HF-1 and AOI no longer operate with the conventional optical TTL as before.

Hello everyone,
The new triggers have arrived! They perfectly handle the HF-1 and AOI UIS PI strobes.
They are available on our website. Here are a few videos showcasing their operation:

Hi.
In case the Backscatter trigger doesn’t fit somewhere and TTL is needed.
The new software for the TURTLE trigger will be available soon.
The first tests have been completed, and they went quite well.
I’m attaching a video of the new s-TURTLE 2 SMART+ trigger and the HF-1.

As I already explained and illustrated in picture before, the accessory is not the issue.
Even when the uw-technics TTL trigger (that's the accessory you refer to) in my housing is removed you are unable to put your trigger on top of the camera. The structural element which holds the cameras upper side in place and prevents it from misaligning with heavy lenses in the housing blocks your TRT trigger box hot shoe. The turtle trigger cannot be mounted as a non-mobie version in MX-R6II housings, please accept that.
Please start offering mobie versions for all of your products.
I understand your frustration.
Unfortunately, the photo you uploaded was misleading to me because the trigger was in focus.
We have to accept that there are situations where a photo of housing alone does not clearly show whether our trigger is compatible.I' d also like to add that no manufacturer is willing to collaborate with third-party accessory companies.
It is impossible to buy and test every case, camera, or flash available on the market.
We invest a lot of money in testing and keep a large stock of flashes and cameras, but there is no amount of money that would allow us to answer every question instantly.
Pavel and I do our best to help every customer, but it would be much easier if people contacted us directly .
Im sorry for misunderstanding your question.
In this case i see the normal trigger does not fit there.
Sorry

Hello.
As far as I know, there is plenty of space for our trigger in the Marelux housing.
I have been using the 5mm LED in the Sony A7 IV Marelux housing for years, and it works perfectly.
Here is the link about the 5mm leds:
https://www.trt-electronics.com/shop/led-adapter-replacement-5-mm-normal-led/8/
So if you order the e-TURTLE 2 manual trigger with these leds you can use it in Marelux housing.

Hello,,
Unfortunately, I didn't realize that the GH5/GH6 had already been tested, so I was able to rent one and conducted the tests myself. It works perfectly in normal optical TTL mode.
Unfortunately, the WL mode has not been tested yet, and the PANASONIC (RC) mode does not run.
There are many active projects right now, so I haven't had much time to deal with this, but I will dedicate some time to it soon. I will share the results either on the website's blog or on Facebook and Instagram.
Have a nice evening.. 🙂

Hello, yes, it remains in that state, but it only activates between 1/10 and 2 seconds.
Basically, I originally designed this function for myself, but I integrated it into the SMART systems.Unfortunately, it won’t be included in manual triggers. This is a more expensive SMART feature, but I’m working on the Canon TTL trigger and hope to bring it to market soon.

Happy New Year to everyone!
This year, we aim to dedicate more time to addressing technical questions. As part of this effort, we’ve written a brief description of a feature available in the TURTLE SMART Nikon and Sony versions.
Take a look, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions! 🙂

I’m sorry that the trigger broke. It’s likely that the spring behind the pin has snapped. If you send it back, we can repair it.
The differences between the triggers can be read on the website.
But briefly:
The only difference between the Mobie and the SMART 1 is the connector that leads to the cable. The Smart 2, however, is designed for the newer high-end cameras.

I’ve written a blog post about the new SMART 3 Olympus/Panasonic version.
I didn’t want to go too deep into technical details, since the main goal was to promote the product, but I believe there are still some useful insights in the post. :)
