The WACP-C may be my next purchase, unless I can find a way to spring for the new, versatile FCP...
I've read WACP-C's optical performance is like 1-2 stop less than WACP-1, I think WACP-C is more focused for weight saving and travel, some research on WACP-C's optical performance is more like and on par with WWL level. for me WACP-2 (too big) best optical performance, then WACP-1. Alex mustard mention FCP optical quality is less than WACP-1 but on par with WACP-C in his latest video.

I bite the bullet and got the nauticam R3 housing (upgrade from nauticam old 1dx housing), currently have WACP with it. IMO nauticam has the best optics and yes their premium is worth it if you are in their eco system. Other housing can take pictures just as great as nauticams, but I love their water contact optics so more reason to stay with them.

Omg! Chromatic aberration! Run, fast.
I've just got a Z8 and have been using my old Nauticam 45 with it. The viewfinder is set to the smaller setting which seems adequate to get the full field of the viewfinder in the eyepiece. If the is any chromatic aberration it is confined to the periphery. I didn't notice anything so it must be subtle.
I don't doubt that the new model is likely better. I could afford to buy it if i wanted to, but i just don't see how it is necessary or would make a tangible improvement. If i find someone else using one with the Z8 i will compare. Until then i am happy with the old viewfinder.
I have an old nauticam 45 degree too from my DSLR housing, for some reason when I put it on my R3 nauticam housing, the CA is quite severe if the angle is even slightly tilted. and distortion caused a bit of car sick after viewing it for a bit.. that's why I am looking for another solution.. one thing I could try is just use the LCD, but that requires sometime to get used to.

Hadn't heard about any chromatic aberration; are you certain that's the fault of the Nauticam viewfinder? Could the camera's EVF itself be responsible for what you're seeing?
I m actually not sure.. it could be just due to R3's EVF , I heard you can do it in nikon but I don't think canon it is an option to make EVF display smaller unfortunately

Thanks for this, unfortunately this is not the one with 40 degree view, I currently have this one for my DSLR , putting it on the miroless has some chromatic abration issue.

Thank you for offering, I would personally prefer a 45 degree first. if I cannot find one I might reach out for the 180 degree.

Hello all! Long time diver and lover of underwater photography, the hobby out of control. Have a website but must acknowledge it is a bit of a mess...lost it's focus on underwater photography and become the family scrapbook, lol. You can take a look at: www.aquabluedreams.com. Have taken a long hiatus from dive travel, 8yrs, in an effort to retire sooner and get out there. Going on our first trip, not really a dive trip, going to pet grey whales for a week in Baja. Glamping and really looking forward to it.
Hello fellow seattle diver!

Long time member from wetpixel, I am a PWN diver here in Seattle, my favourite object to shoot is GPO, the new site looks great!
Fairly Pricing
in Classifieds
depends on how new the item is, but mostly you will get around 50-60% what msrp was, unless it's a highly desired item/housing/strobe. then it's maybe 70-80%.
