Don't quite have the money for the new ettl strobes yet. So the question is: am I correct in assuming I can use the same cable that is intended for the digital DS-125 (#4103.51), to trigger my old substrobe 100 (on manual) ?
I am thinking I will then also be able to keep same cable when i do get the money to upgrade my strobe.
Snappy,
We'll need to hear form Ikelite on this one. I think that if you use that cable .51 with the blue band on it and an Ikelite 100a then your camera will lock up on you unless you cover all but one of the contacts on the hotshoe.
Cheers
James
Yes, what James said. Here is the link for Ikelite's explanations and a drawing of the hotshoe indicating which contacts to cover:
Ok thanks, as always quick and presice answers in this fourm! One thing: this links talks about Nikonos socket, while I've got ikelite (?, see picture) socket on both the housing and the strobe. But I guess it is the same prinsciple.
Yes, same principle, just cover the pins in the hotshoe as shown in the Ikelite site and you will be able to use the regular cable.
