I just tried it with CS2, but haven't confirmed whether it works yet. When you use a color profile different than sRGB, the color of your images do not look right when opened in a non color managed application, like a web browser. A solution is to convert your images to sRGB before you use Save For Web. But doing it manually can be tedious...
In Photoshop CS2, here comes the Script Event Manager to the rescue!
Its function: if a peculiar event happens, it will automatically run an action or a script.
First, given a document in any color profile but sRGB, record an action that will convert the image to sRGB (edit>convert to profile).
Go to File>Scripts>Scripts Events Manager. Check "Enable events to trigger actions"
As for the Photoshop event, choose "add an event" in the drop down list.
In the event name type: "SAVEFORWEB" without quotes and spaces, in all caps. It is needed to give it a description.
Click on the radio button in front of "Action", and select the action that you created for converting to sRGB.
Click on "Add" then on "Done". Now, each time you use Save for Web, your images will automatically converted to the correct profile!
