Spanish Sea Slug ID needed

  1. Hi Leslie,

Till now nobody did ID the "thing" on the attached photo. The photo was made in Calabardina, Murcia, South Spain, Mediterranean Sea. It has about 1m long. It's vertical. The part on the photo is the bottom of it. It's about 5cm max diameter.

    Good luck,

    Carlos

  2. Now that is one vulgar looking organism! Do you have any photos of the entire thing? The top? Was attached at the top or at the bottom? And is it UW or intertidal?

  3. Hi, I haven't other photos. It was attached to the rocks at the top. It's underwater about 15m down.

I saw some other critter at the same dive. Photo attached. Maybe this one is easier.

  4. That first one has me stumped. It reminds me of intertidal anemones attached to vertical or overhanging rock walls that at low tide hang like dirty socks with an orange in the toe. And speaking of orange, your nudi is a bit easier. It looks like Berthellina edwardsi. Do you know about Luis Sanchez Tocino's webpage Opistobranquios de la Costa de Granada?

  5. Hi Leslie,

thanks for the link. I'll keep it on my favourites because I've lots of nudi's photos to identify. Thanks
