  1. Any suggestions on these couple ?

They were taken on the stern of the Umbria just outside Port Sudan and are ambient light.

Going back and changing the angle is not an immediate option. The vis was not great that day also :(

Having just figured out how to post images ( see elsewhere ! ) I figured it would be good to get some criticism.

  2. Thanks for sharing Paul.

BW works for me, but I think it could do well with a bit more contrast. I also like the colour though. Did you have a magic filter with you? :(

  3. Have to admit I also like the BW - will try for a bit more contrast.

I did have a magic filter but this was at about 20m so did not bother with it, also I planned to move on into the holds and turn the strobes on.

As usual on these dive trips there was only two dives on the wreck - which reduces somewhat the options.

In the RAW file the red channel is non existent.

There is a script action for photoshop on the Abobe website that will create a red layer for you.

It's somewhat similar to what the feature that Robert Delfs wrote.

I ran it on your picture and this is the result.

You can argue if the color looks better, but that's where tweaking comes in.

If you want it, send a message and I'll send it over.

  5. Of the two posted I like the color version better. I do think the image would look better in B&W. I'd say back to PS and try again.

  6. That Mola in the Blue article is some piece of work - I have read through it before.

I will give it a try.

I did try a few things to crank the contrast up - to be honest most ended up not looking too good.

The original RAW is pretty washed out - but it is what I have !

    Thanks again.
