Which Wide Angle ?

7 posts
  1. There seem to be 3 wide angle lenses on the market for Olympus Housings.

    Inon Wide Angle

    Sea & Sea 20mm

    Epoque 20mm

I would like to buy one of these but am struggling to work out which one is best.

The Inon lens is significantly more expensive than the other two but seems to have wider distribution (maybe because it has been around longer).

My preference is probably to the Sea & Sea due to price, availability in UK and experience of Sea & Sea products.

Has anyone got any experience of them all ?

  3. Thanks for the advice.

I already have the Sea & Sea adaptor ring for their MM II lenses.

However the 16mm and 20mm lens are not supported by this ring. The reason is that in order to avoid vignetting it is essential to zoom to the maximum telephoto setting on the camera. This reduces the effect of the add on lens and even on the 16mm lens the wide angle is less than that achieved using only the camera alone. The one advantage is a real close focus ability. This is of course not a problem for the close up lenses.
