  1. Would like to hear from anyone who has been to the Caymens since their hurricane (last year).

Wondering about the condition of the reefs and level of general recovery of the islands. Also any feedback about Dive shops (good &/or bad) would be appreciated. Thanks

  2. Check out these threads for examples and some talk from the Caymans over the last year or so.

Briefly apart from maybe not having every hotel at full capacity we are underwater wise as good as it gets.

On land we still have the ever sufficient fine supply of restaurants bars and beach, shopping is readily available if you dare embrace George Town when mobbed full of cruise shippers.

Many people who visit regularly tell me there is only a few things that remind you of what happened here during Ivan, all in all Come join us .. it doesn't get any better.

  3. I have been to Grand Cayman, worst affected by Hurricane Ivan, 3 times since Hurricane Ivan. And I'm going again for Christmas and New Year.

The diving is still very nice and it takes a keen eye to spot any changes to dive sites due to the storm.

A good website with many many images taken underwater on Grand Cayman is owned by Wetpixel member Kriptap:

Nearly all the great images on his website have been taken since Ivan, and give you a accurate idea of what its is like these days.
