Housing with Cannon S45

  1. Hi all members

i am a new member of this forum. I am using Cannon S45 and with the diving housing to take photo when diving.

But i have some Question to ask :

    1) how to prevent the flog inside the housing? ( even i use the anti-flog provided by the cannon.)

    2) how to use the antiflog provided by cannon? should i use on the lens directly? should also use on the whole housing inside?

Thx your reply and help !^v^

  2. The fog is mainly because of the heat that came out from the camera (at the battery)

What I found to work for me best are:

    1. In the dive, if I the fog am starting the only thing you can do it is to shutdown the LCD screen, the screen is the most electricity eater.

    2. Put Silica gel package inside the u/w case.

    3. Try to close the camera (into the u/w case) at dry place.

    4. If you use the antifog put a little on the glass screen in front of the lens, I found that there is a lot better products in the market there the one that Canon provide.

  3. fai,

Do a search here on "fog" and you should turn up some GREAT advice.

Try doing a search yourself - there is lots of great info here!

The camera heats up when it is in use and causes fogging.

Taking a camera and housing out of a dry air conditioned boat and opening it outside on a hot humid diveboat will cause fogging.

Fogging is easy to avoid and does NOT require any kind of "anti fog" liquid.

    Cheers
