flash/strobe

is there a reason that they dont make housings for flashguns?

i have the 580ex for my 20-d

its a very good and powerfull flash, will it not penitrate the water?

Yes, water really eats up your flash power.

Your 580 is powerfull compared to other land flashes, but compaired to underwater strobes, it is very weak and has limited coverage.

There are housings for land stobes such as the 580. But they are not recommended. A pair of 580's and housings cost more than than a set of nice dedicated underwater strobes and are not nearly as good.

yes i did a serch and found 3 makes, though i couldnt fond a price, 2 of them arnt in production yet
