I started taking photos underwater in July after a visit to the Red Sea and Sipadan in October. I don't have my own camera as yet I have only hired them (Motormarine 2's from my local dive shop).
I am thinking of buying a digital camera later this month and this is what brought me to this site.
Hope the photographs are worthy of some critism either way.
You'd have to be a braver man than me to criticise anything about these shots They tell the viewer just how enchanting passive and approachable turtles can be (Although Sipadan marine life is a law unto itself) .
I feel whatever camera system you purchase you will indeed excell with it, but buy at the top end of your budget.

Thankyou Bob,
I am grateful for your time interest and nice comments.

I think this a beautiful shot. Great job in lighting the head of the turtle. The only flaw I can spot are the bubbles at the upper right. That's something to watch for when you shoot straight up.

Funny thing, i didn't even see those bubbles before Herb mentioned them.
Slippery-when-wet,
this is a great shot and hard to improve. I'm looking forward to see more of your pics.
Sabine
Thank you Herb & Sabine for your words of encouragement.
I shall post some more pictures soon

That's probably because I've taken lots of shots of bubbles
They would be more obvious if the photo was shown at a higher magnification.
beautiful!
I love the white-to-black gradient.
MMMMM me too.I was thrilled with the outcome of these images from Sipadan as I was the Red Sea as the colors are magical.
For only $1.50 a roll I think the value was extraordinary.
Everytime I get bored I sit and look at the printouts and daydream.
