  1. Hey all. I recently finished my underwater gallery website. Any and all critiques are welcome!

  2. I like the website, though most of the pictures look over-sharpened to me. The Cozumel lobster shows it the worst.

  3. I agree with William on the lobster and most of the Bimini Gallery, it looks like PS was brought in to fix a lot of blurry images. Seems like camera shake, slow shutter speed/both. Maybe the sponge tool all over or saturation played with. Some pics were tehcnically perfect like the shrimp and I think the Austrialia starfish pic was one of the best all around. Most of the exposures were on as well.

On the whole the composition tends to be shooting downward, usually upward is better. Your shots are good but I think you can grow into a really, really good uw phtotgrapher and to get their faster I would read a few books especially Norbet Wu and Howard Hall, I would go to the library and read every uw book I could. A big thing is to look really close at top pro photographers and the best pic forum on wet pixel is perfect right now. Rather than just look and think wow, look and think how did they light this, what angle, what lens, are they shooting upward straight on etc. You can apply these things on your next dive. The first things I think of as I am looking for my background is get low (shoot up and get close). I am no voice of authority but I hope this helps.

  4. Hey guys. Thanks tons for the critiques. I think that part of the problem on the galleries was that the pictures were bigger than the display, so I have since resized all of them so that hopefully they wont appear so sharp. Also I do have that newbie problem of more is better with regard to sharpening and saturation.

And The Norbert Wu book is on its way!

Thanks for the feedback, and more are welcome
