I took these yesterday; these blennies are a lot of fun to shoot. Too bad I was diving with a group of scientist and had to leave this dive site soon, so I had only 15 minutes to photograph. Anyways, which one of these three do you like the best, and why?
#1
#2
#3
Thanks for any feedback,
Luiz
I think they're all great. #1 is probably my favorite. The OOF background on #2 and #3 is a little distracting. A tighter crop on either one of those might work. With your D2X you plenty of pixels to work with.
Thanks, I agree with you. #2 is the one that I like the least too.

I think than none of them are as good as your image in the "Your best shot of 2005" thread because none of them have as good eye contact with the subject as that shot does.
I think this eye contact is key to getting a good reaction from the viewer in any fish shot.
Of the three I like number 1 best. But none are as good as shots you already have.

Thanks Alex, I also think the one in "Your best shot" is the best too, so much that I didn't even try to get a similar one (can't get any better than that with this subject). I tried a different approach in these by adding some out of focus background, but I agree that it is distracting in shots 2 and 3.

Hey Luiz the pic in "Your Best shot" is just awsome, these are really good too. I like number one also and if you don't mind tell me what you think of it now after a few minutes of photoshop fun. -Great Stuff
