  2. Andy,

Good color and composition for your first shots. The first think that came to my mind was that all images are shot horizontally. In particular, I would have shot the sea horse vertically to get the tail. Generally speaking, your composition depends on several factors, but animal shape and position are important. I am a huge advocate of looking at other photographers' pictures and challenging myself to analyze and ask how I can do better than that. Many times I simply can't. Other times I get something I like. My recommendation for you is to look at what others are doing. Go to the photo competition sites and see what is winning. Replicate that in your mind when you are shooting.

  3. Also, your enlargements are too small....Make them bigger so we can have a better look at your work.

  4. Hi Joe,

About the enlargements i have been trying for the last hour and a half but i dont know how to make the enlargements bigger :D

  5. Andy,

Are you using Photoshop? If so, go into image, image size and make your image something like 4 by 6, resolution 75 PPI, select bicubic smoother if have to interpolate to a higher resolution.

We'd love to see your stuff at a bigger viewing piece.

  6. Hi Andy,

Nice shots for a first post! For image size, just open your originals in photoshop, make them 500 pixels wide (Image Menu >> Image Size) and then use the command Save for Web to save them in medium quality, this should be small but good enough for us to view.
