  2. Interesting. Has anyone seen a review of this lens yet? I'm just slightly wary of the quality given its huge focal length range. It sounds too good to be true...... :)

  3. Try www.kenrockwell.com for a review He seems quite pleased with it.

  4. I totally agree with Tim. As my daddy (rest his soul) once told me, if it seems too good to be true, it usually is :)

  5. I picked up one yesterday but have not had much chance to play with it yet.

Took a few shots yesterday but have not download the picture yet.

VR2 seems very nice. It is certainly possible to handheld the camera down to 1/15, 1/10s with decent result. AF even at low light is very fast and not a lot of hunting around. The lens is nice and light and would make an excellent casual walk around lens, I think.

My initiallly impression is that while it would not be as good as 17-55mm DX, it certainly is as good if not better than 18-70mm DX so for the quality/feature vs price, I think it is a pretty good buy.

  6. Here is a sample taken with VR2 on. I am by no mean an accomplished land photographer and I am sure my camera holding technique is about as good as an average person on a street.

Here is 18-200 DX with D2X, 200mm, 1/10s, F5.6. I only used PS CS2 to resize and save for web.
