This is my first post here on Wetpixel, because yesterday I took my first underwater pictures. My camera is a Canon Ixus II, and the housing is a Canon WP DC-10. At the moment I am only snorkeller and the pictures were taken at Rum Point in Grand Cayman.
Oh, and I'm only 8 years old. Which means I am one year younger than when my brother first started taking pictures.
Here are my photos. I was just really practicing shells on the seafloor.

Here is a picture of me with my camera taken by my brother.

Welcome Oscar!
8 years old? Wish I would have started that early! and your brother is shooting a Subal! When do you get his hand-me-downs?
Nice start! The pic of your brother is very nice!
Welcome Oscar!! Can your parents adopt me?
That is a nice start, at this rate you will be hooked on this UW photo thing in no time.
Great colours,
Have fun on wetpixel.
Mike
Great photos Oscar .
Keep at it :-)
Keep at it Oscar - nice pics - Remember one thing underwater and your pics will be even better "GET CLOSE" - Look forward to seeing more stuff
Very nice photos, Oscar. Outstanding, especially for your first effort. Keep 'em coming! We'll all be looking for more stuff from you in the future.
Let's see. Eric Cheng only started shooting underwater about four years ago at age 26? Here comes Oscar at only age 8. Watch out, Eric. He's got you in his sights!

Oscar ... those are awesome dude ... way better than my first shots.
so nice to see family talent in the making ... I like the shells but the first photo with the flounder is very cool to me ... nicely subtle .. you know whats there but you have to look for it just like you do in real life .. a very good reall life photo. In my mind it's nice to make things look like they really do.
I'm proud to know you oscar good job ... wanna join YUP ?
Great stuff Oscar!
We are supposed to be going to see the stingrays this afternoon, so hopefully the sun will be out and we can get some nice shots.
I think that Photobeat is right, you should always try and get as close as you can to the subjects.
Alex
Way to go, Oscar. May we call you Oscar Cousteau? Those are very nice images for your first time and especially since you are eight years old. As soon as you can, take a SASY (Supplied Air Snorkeling for Youth) scuba class with PADI. You can do a bubble maker class now, which is a pool diving introduction. Yes, you need your parents, but all the better...they will pay for it Then you can jump into the SASY class...that will allow you to experience surface supplied air diving (with a real long hose) and take that camera down to get closer to the animals. Remember, GET CLOSER if you can.
