TSA rules change

Just noticed this on the TSA website.

Effective today, you can carry-on small tools and other previously banned items. Last trip I had a small allen wrench and box wrench taken from me at the security checkpoint. The new rule allows small tools, including screwdrivers, in carry-on luggage as long as they don't exceed 7" in length.

I wonder if international carriers will do this? TSA allowed my camera spanner wrench all the way across the U.S. The folks in Australia were the ones to confiscate it. I loved that little wrench......

Mark my words, some f^%&@*ing nut will pull out a screwdriver and make a threat, forcing the old rules to apply.
