Galapagos in late March

  1. I'm considering going to the Galapaos in March, and I'm wondering if anyone has been there that time of year?

Information I've gathered so far is that it's the warmest time of year on land and the ocean, which is appealing, but it's also the wettest time of year.

I'm wondering how wet it really is? Raining all the time or just occasional showers. I'd hate to go and get drenched on all the land excursions.

I know it's not the "whale shark season", but are there still encounters anyway, or do the whale sharks migrate somewhere?

Thank you for any information that can be shared.

  2. Hello Mike!

I've been in the Galapagos in July 2000. That's the best season for whaleshark. March should be generally a good season as well, but mabe less for whalesharks. If you are interested, I've written an article about my trip. You can find it here: http://www.braunstein.co.il/articles.asp?id=6

Hope it'll help, have fun anyway!
