Light(s) at the end of the tunnel ??

  1. Hi all,

Has anyone had or heard anything about the Amphibico pro arc 10 lights.

I have just been contacted by a company in the U.K and they are doing a deal of the Amphibico EVO PRO with these lights for £3000. I think thats around £400 more than our "video brothers" can get it for in the states but thats the British tax & duty system for you :(

The housing on its own is £2050 which also works out at £460 more than our "Over the pond cousins" but hey, thats the...You get the picture <_<

Will these lights be o.k for supplementing natural light in lower viz.??

    Come on guys..Help a guy out ;)

The housings, supposedly are avaliable mid February :D

  2. Hey Dean

Not sure about those exact lights....BUT...

What you need to remember with lights in bad viz is that they are going to create a lot of backscatter. Get em out wide and turn em slightly away from parallel for WA stuff....but....it will still increase backscatter.

Also, remember that red disappears in the water column at 10 feet, that means that to get a full spectrum of light and colour on your subjects you are limited to 5 feet from your subject.

Basically, don't expect miracles from adding lights on WA...

But, they will definitely be a massive aid in your close up and macro stuff

(And good use of smilies there buddy..:(
