Sorry to keep hitting you with the same old A1E questions, but....
I have now conceded that the EVO PRO is a lens nightmare at the moment. So is there a way around the situation. If I get the flat port can anyone recomend a lens that screws on the actual camera that can give a wider angled shot and obviously fits in the housing. Also will diopters enhance the macro capability of the camcorder.??
And NO !! Mike and Drew I won't get a Z1 or a panny
Cheers guys I'm on the threshold of buying one this weekend..

I'd be surprised if you could fit a good wide angle lens inside the housing. Even if it did fit, is the port wide enough that it won't obstruct the view ?
I started a post on Diopters last week. Look a little further down on the message list. I had a lot of answers to my newbie questions.
Dean,
Just wondering why is the EVO PRO a lens nightmare ??
Peter
Well o.k not a nightmare as such.
But the EVO comes with the 55 lens like the old dive buddy pro and as Amphibico told me the 120 dgree has to much vignetting. Their answer to the problem will not evolve until 2007.
So I was wondering if you could get a flat port / dome port / bottle of port ?... and use a wide lens on the cam its self ??
I am looking to buy the A1E tomorrow (sat) so the wide angle prob was a bit of a bugger as i am hoping to "stick with what i know, Amphibico". There's a catchy line for their next advert.
Panicing I think is the answer..

DeanB,
Amphibico already have an 80 degree wide angle lens that attaches to the housing. There web site does not specifically state that it attaches to the EVO housing but it is shown as a related item. Check with them to make sure. I used one with my VH-2000 housing and it worked well.
One word Dean.... custom baby... custom!
Yes david..If your on about the wet lens I've also used it. I will look into it.
Drew, you've got to much money Baby, tooooo Much..
Though I'd have thought the Phenom lens with a smaller bayonet would have been viable.
