Sea and Sea Japan has announced the new DX-3000 housing for the Ricoh Caplio R30 camera. Made of polycarbonate, it has a depth rating of 55 meters and can use the bayonet mount 20 mm lens from the MX-10. It comes with LCD hood, handstrap, O-ring, and silicone grease. The housing has the unique feature of a sliding shutter to cover the onboard flash when using an external strobe such as the YS-25DX.
Price has not yet been announced (open price) and expected date of sale is December 20, 2002.
The R30 is a 3.24 Megapixel camera boasting the worldfs fastest digital camera shutter response of 0.22 seconds and 1 cm macro capabilities.
