  1. Ok here is one.

Was nice to see this one in the water and not caught by locals. And I post this one first as I had a CF Card error on this dive and had to use a recovery program to get the pictures back. I was not completely happy as the composition I really wanted I did not get. The camera would not fire after the CF went into error. Computers! :)

  3. Really like that second one. Have you been getting lessons from Alex?

    Keep them coming.

  4. Yep, I quietly go to the Caymans and watch closely what he does. :D I really liked the look and feel of the shot of Alex's that you are referring to so I tried to get something similiar with those Cardinal fish.

Darn work and kids are getting in the way of editting pics. Go away for a month and they seem to demand attention :D

Yes, what trip from me would not be complete without a shark. I laugh still at the Conservation International Biologist comment after seeing this shot. "You know what they do right?" (yes, they bite and don't let go...I spoke to the shark first then clicked away) ;)

  5. Looking good, Todd. Roger's Armpit seems to be a productive spot. I am certainly looking forward to seeing more of your and Robert's shots.

  6. Good stuff Todd, keep em comin!

  7. This is a photo of a subject I had not seen before. It reminds me of the Pen Point Gunnel from the cold waters of British Columbia because of the stripe by it's eye. (Except this guy is smaller than a strand of spaghetti) Hard to really get a composition that is inspiring but fun to find none the less.

  8. And you have flatworms on those tentacles (the olive green lillypad shaped things). Critters upon critters upon critters.

    Alex

  9. And I was excited just to see the pipefish. I didn't even notice.

  10. Magic filter shot. The Octopus was generous enough to pose for me while I gave the Magic Filter a try for the first time.

I need to trim the filter though as I got the Canon version of the 15mmfe but I have the Sigma 15mm fe. That said I made it work without trimming for the time being. I did not WB during the dive yet chose to do it post dive ensuring I had aspects in the photo that allowed for WB.

  12. You are slow, but worth the wait. I love the way the fish is framed.

  13. Thanks Herb.

It was one of those shots where I looked back to notice him sitting there and was glad I had.

  14. I agree, that fish is beautifully composed and the lighting sets a mood.

  15. Thanks Joe.

  16. I really like the colours and patterns in that last one. I tried a different crop? What do you think?

  17. Damn, that's it. I tried with this one so many times. I tried to keep the feel of the numerous tubes and the little guy but never quite felt I had it. That and I try to minimally crop.

Perfect, I will use that crop.

    Thanks for the eye.

  18. As a general point, it can be quite fun to play at cropping other photographers images as it sharpens your senses for seeing the picture next time you are UW.

Glad you didn't mind me cropping your pic, Todd. I have been nervously waiting a flaming for the last 20 minutes!

    Alex

  19. I never mind helpful tips. :o

If you hate one of the shots though and want to tear it apart, PM me. Then I will quickly delte it and run.

  20. Bountiful shots, I especially like the last two.

Alex maybe you have to develops a new filter: magic crop
