I am looking into getting a strobe for my coolpix 950. I am not looking for anything super fancy as I am very amateur when it comes to underwater photography. Up until now i have done decently w/ no strobe and just natural light and photoshop.
I am going on a trip to thailand in 2 weeks and doing want to be there and realize there is not enough natural lighting to take pics.
i want to know what are some models of strobes i can use with the casing and camera. as well as finding what else i need to get. I assume the arms and cords don't come w/ the strobes. I have a somewhat limited budget, so am looking for low to medium end equipment.
anyhelp would be GREATLY appreciated as i am completely ignorant in this field.

You're in luck. Virtually any strobe will work with your setup.
I have a Nikon SB105 for sale in the classified's section CLICK HERE - check it out. It will work well for you. It takes 4 AA batteries - the same as your camera.
For the 950, you might also want to get one of the Nikon WC-E24 wideangle lenses. With this lens, you can get GREAT pix w/ the Ikelite housing.

I'm thinking the the absolute cheapest underwater strobe that you can get costs about $250 or so. That would be for a smaller less powerful unit.
