i have a sony PC1000 and i can adjust the WB shift when the camera is in the housing , but if i want to adjust the manual WB when it is inside of the housing i will have to make an adjustment to one of the control arms inside of my housing.
If i cut and re bend the control arm i will no longer be able to access the main menu.
Will using the WB shift be ok......
If you have an Ikelite housing I found that by moving the assignment of the white balance "button" into reach of the arm is the ticket. You can organize your personal menu any way you want. The adjustment is somewhere under menu function. Just get the book out (I don't have mine in front of me).
OOPS... I spoke too soon.... Yes this is a problem. While I can get into the white balance menu, I can't reach the one touch white balance command.
I'm also intereseted in what the fix would be.
I have an HC1 but could you have two fingers on the arm where you rotate one direction and it touches one place, rotate the other dir to touch the other?
The HC1 housing has a flippable arm with a long and short finger. Pull it all the way out and flip it to use the other finger. See my web site.
I have 2 arms... one reaches the bottom row of the touch screen and one reaches the top row. The middle seems to be forgotten. The arms only have one direction with which to touch the screen with.
The big brother to the HC1, Sony's A1U has an assignable button that can be accessed using the Gates housing. I immediately assigned the button to White Balance duty. The button was the reason I got my A1U with the housing now on order.-Steve
