How to correct the photo when camera is moistened?

My camera was moistened because I forgot to put defogging liquid on it.

This is the shot of frogfish that supposed to be clear but......

Anything I can do to make it better?

Hi Wasa,

There is little you can do to rectify this shot now unfortunately...

Black frogfish are almost impossible to photograph with any detail at the best of times because they absorb so much light - Like a mini 'Black Hole'!

White ones are the complete oposite too!!!

Prevention:

1. Enclose sachet of silica gel into your housing.

2. Prepare camera & housing indoors away from humidity.

another problem I have with my canon powershot A40 is that it sometimes stops working underwater and says E18 on the viewing monitor.

Do you know what E18 means? I try to look in the manual but it said I have to check with the company. I searched through the Canon website but I could not find any answer. I sent email to them, no reply for half a year now. I asked camera dealers, they have no clue either.

Remove existing batt.and CF card.

Allow internal memory to run down overnight.

Replace existing battery w/ NEW BATT.

Insert NEW BATT.Switch camera on.

Insert CF card.

Problem fixed. "

Thats the prevention sorted!!

To sort out the photo spend a good hour or so with a software editing package such as Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop.

Put the clone tool through its paces and your picture will be like a pros.

Oh the joys of digital manipulation!!!

PS You need plenty of patience!

Tip! ensure you zoom right in before cloning (it improves the final image)

Mark, He lives in Thailand... It would be quicker to go look for the frogfish again!!!

Oh well! Thats what you get for living in these far eastern dreamscapes.
