Strobe arms

  1. After my last question, you probably knew this was next. The only brand of tray and arm I have ever played with is the basic Sealife Pro set up with a 8" flexible/padded arm, and the Bonica Neon XP and Neon III.

How does this arm stand up to other more popular brands such as Sea & Sea and Ikelite, and the more expensive Ultralight Control Systems. Like a regulator, do you really get more for the money/get what you pay for?

  2. ULCS are my pick :D

The things that set them apart from the other arms I have are:

    * the ease of tightening / releasing the clamps underwater - especially with gloves, frozen fingers, etc

    * they are flat which makes for easier grip and adjustment

    * they have holes which are great for clips, lanyards, and generally securing the arms for handling

    * the o-rings give an ultra tight grip - becomes very impotant with heavy strobes like the ikelite ds125

    cheers

    Lndr

  3. After using Ike arms for a long time, I switched to ULCS.

    Worth every penny.

    All the best, James

  4. Yep, ULCS: light-weight, tough, flexible, easy to position, lots of options and fittings, easy to clip lanyards etc to them......
