Beginner to UW

I have bben diving for a long time as in 30 years, I have tried to shoot UW photos using Nikonos II, III, IV, V. was neve really that serious till now. Am considering purchasing either a Canon 20D, (do not know what lens yet) or a Nikon D200. appreciate your wise advise. Oops yep need a UW housing too!! Thank you in advance.

Hi techwreck, Welcome to Wetpixel.

 

The D200 benefits from being 18 months newer technology but both are excelent cameras that will be more than enough to keep you happy for some time to come.

 

One thing I notice from your question is "not know which lens" You will not be able to get by with just on lens. The question is which lenses At a minimum you will need a macro lens (60 or 100mm) and a wide angle lens (some where in the 10 to 20mm range)

Once you have more specific questions ask and you will find plenty of people here willing to help you learn.

 

PS. As Joe said, learn to use the seach function to search previous topics. Almost any question you might have has allready been answered at least once before.
