Ikelite TTL and Mixed Strobes

3 posts
  1. Has anyone had a chance to try Ikelite TTL with mixed strobes, 1 DS125 and say a DS50? Is it possible to use mismatched strobes?

Does this work with the new DS200? I'm considering adding a DS200 alongside a DS125 in a TTL housing. Will this work or should I just stick with 2 of the same strobes? Has Ikelite tested this configuration?

Is there an upgrade to the TTL circuitry in the D70 housing required to be compatable with DS200s in iTTL?

    Thanks

  2. All DS series Ikelite SubStrobes can operate in any combination, but should not be combined with non-DS series strobes on a common sync cord. DS-200 operates fine with any of our housing conversion circuitry............

  3. The argument is always that it is best to use two strobes of the same make. They give you the same field of coverage and same color temperature. Most important it is a lot easier to intentionally modify the ratio of lighting from each strobe to avoid flat lighting.
