Hooking NIKON to CANON

2 posts
  1. I hooked up my CANON D20 in a Subal housing----- attached old SB102 Nikonos strobes , and the an old sea and sea strobe YS60 ttL/n . And I risked pressing the shutter. Did it Topside. It worked fine . Both strobes were very responsive and I was able to get good exposures on my test shots.

I would like some feed back on this.

Could it be harmfull to the camera or strobe.

As far as I am concerned a strobe is a gives a burst of light when you press the shutter .If I pre meusure my ditances and power outpu I should be fine and wouldnt have to spend loads of money- when I have three SB102 lying around and old Sea and Sea equipment.

  2. You should have no problems using the old SB102's. Subal only connects 3 of the strobe wires to the hotshoe. To your 20D, it's not even registering a strobe connection. Just connect and fire away, just adjust strobe to subject distance for exposure control. I still use my YS120's with my Subal C10.
