First time attempting to get some decent photos while snorkeling. I have a Casio 750Z which will be in a Ewa Marine bag. It does not have an "underwater setting" per se but has some manual capabilities---can set aperture or shutter priority (though only 2 apertures...2.8 and 5.6), can set manual focus distance (from 10 cm to 1 meter and then infinity setting using a bar as guide), can set custom white balance, and can force flash or turn it off. Any suggestions for settings? Does it help to put a 'white card' in waterproof bag, submerge it and shoot the custom WB that way? Any help appreciated.

Casio camera settings for snorkeling

Hi Phil and welcome to wetpixel.
For your first outing, if you're shooting without the camera flash, just leave the camera in auto. It's going to choose f2.8, but that's OK. You can get by without setting the custom white balance, and set it later on your computer if you want.
Take a photo, and go to your photo program and choose curves or levels. From there use the white eye-dropper and click on something white or gray. That should adjust the color for you.
Next outing, you may want to try using a Magic filter between your camera lens and the flat port inside the Ewa bag.
Good luck and have fun!
James
