Thanks to all who brought to my attention the inaccuracies and out-of-date information contained in a recent article about the Nikon Coolpix 5000 that appeared on the Rodale's Scuba Diving homepage. As previously mentioned, the article was picked up from a print article written for the October 2001 issue. Given the necessarily long lead times for magazines, and quick changes in the digital world, it was definitely an obsolete review.

    Excellent! Thank you for posting the link to the updated article.

     

    If I were still shooting a consumer camera, the Coolpix 5000 would be the one. I love the way you can go from Macro to 28mm on the same dive.

     

    Here is a good example of the TTL strobe capability of the 5000 (28mm):
