The Antibes World festival of Underwater Images had decided to move to Nice since their normal venue is under renovation.
Turns out they are back to Antibes, Port Vauban to be more accurate. The event has been renamed World Festival of Underwater Pictures of Alpes-Maritimes considering their new major sponsor.
Also, they are opening up more to digital photography.
After looking at Mr J.P. Trenque's pictures on the BBC website I think he should fire some their way as well.. Actually lets all have a go and get over there and have a wetpixel party weekender...I had a excellent time last year.

In this competition, if the theme is PNG, are the entries for judging supposed to reflect this? Or is the 10 slide entries to be the choice of the entrant to show the array of skills, regardless of where they were taken?
Inquiry minds want to know

The "theme" has no bearing on the photo competition. They have a theme around either a country or something special simply as part of features, including some exhibits and lectures.
Competition entries can be about anything.

Thanks for the input. I am assuming that when you "register" as they call it, it is just like filling out an entry form and submitting your images with that registration form? It is a little vague as to whether you have to register first, then wait for some form of approval. I assume it's as simple as filling out the form and submitting your slides with that form, and doing so electrinically means you are submitting digital files?
Thanks for feeding the weak side of my brain.
Joe
Hi Joe,
Registering means entering images/video/slide show in the competition.
There is a fee to pay for entries but it is small.
Note that there is also a digital slide show competition as well. You no longer have to lug around 9 projectors to enter into this competition... :-).
However, as most will testify, entering the competition or even winning is fun, but the best part of Antibes is attending the festival.... wonderful event with lots of old salts and great "family" atmosphere.
Enjoy
Michel
Two of the top three sets of images at the festival were taken on digital - and mine at least were converted to transparency.
