These shots are my first attempt with a DSLR underwater, using a D70 in the Ikelite housing with twin DS125s.

Hi David, welcome to wetpixel! And what a first post, great images! I have to do a shark trip some day. My favourite is the tiger shark close-up, but all photos are really great, and outsdanding to be your first attempt with a dSLR underwater.

Nice shots. I like the perspective. What lens did you use.
Great shots Dave.
Welcome to wetpixel.
Good stuff -the tight closeup is killer.
Really excellent! The natural lighting on the top 2 really jumps out.
For the second shot: How deep were you and what was your distance? Were you using any filters? Were you shooting fully manual? Finally of course, what lens were you shooting?
Sorry for all the questions, but I really like them ![]()
Thanks!
Hi David, excelents shoots!! First time with a dSLR on underwater? great!!

Thanks everybody. To try and answer the questions, I was very close to all subjects, but not close enough. I used the standard 6" Ike dome, as the 8" wasn't available in the UK. Using a Nikkor 12-24, I found that I couldn't focus quite as close as I would like. next time.............
All photos were taken in 5m or less of water. No filters etc. just the camera, housing, strobes.

Nice job David. OUtstanding photos for a first try!
If you find that the 12-24mm cannot focus as close as you'd like it to, try using a +3 or +4 diopter.
Cheers,
Mat
Nice shots!
I loved the close angle especially oh the Hammerhead.
