Ys-60 with PT-015???

5 posts
  1. Hey guys/gals,

How would the YS-60 work with the PT-015 ??? I know very few people have any Pt-015 rig yet, but I was wonder what would be the pro's and con's of this set-up. I'm still looking at using some other strobes, but I haven't heard much about the YS-60. Any advice would be appericated, this would be my first UW rig

  2. I've never used the 5050/PT-015 before - but it seems to me that if you can turn off the camera's preflash, then you can use the YS60 as a slave. You might even be able to use a fiber optic cable to direct light to the strobe's slave sensor.

If you can't turn off the preflash, then you won't be able to use the YS60 easily with that setup.

  3. You can set the flash to slave mode, then it will not fire the pre-flash. Works in manual mode at least, but (in case you don't always use manual mode) in some camera modes the slave flash option is disabled.

  4. I doubt the YS60 can be used with the PT015, since it doesn't have a built-in slave sensor. I am not sure, but may be an external slave sensor could be used to fire the YS60.
