HC1 WB....am i stupid?

  1. Ok, got a guest here with the HC1 and Sealux housing....

Trying to figure out WB options... so i went into the menu and went to the WB. There is a WB and there is a WB Shift, the shift is highlighted and can be pressed and accessed. The WB is not highlighted and cannot be pushed or accessed....

So.. without having a manual to look at i am wondering how does one get that little sucker to open up?

But..... hmmmm, then tried to look at housing and no WB access at all...

Soooo, for those of you with that camera and a housing without any WB control. What are you using for settings? Cranking up the WB shift a little to warm it up and leaving it? Using outdoor? Full auto?

    Anyone getting nice colour?????

How about just turning it off and on and sticking a white card in front as it fires up when you change depth?

    All suggestions gladly received...

Mike (i don't like not having access to manual WB) Veitch

    <_<

  2. I was using outdoor and cranked up shift +2.. That was o.k but I was experimenting with the new baby.

Strange not being able to access W/B.. My A1 has no probs..

I'll look at my manual for clues. Have you got it on an AE setting that cancels the W/B (as a suggestion).

  3. Mike,

Best option with HC1 is either auto WB and filter or as you said engage man WB mode ( via touch screen, which incedently I hate with a passion ) and go through the power down / restart process.

  4. According to my manual, you cannot access W/B when:

    In night shot..

    (colour bar)

    When the 'auto-lock' is on..

    Hope this helps

  7. Mike,

You can go on the Sony website and download a PDF copy of the manual.

  8. Got it in the water today. Tried it on auto WB, nice colour in clear water actually...

Better than my old 950 on auto...
