Inon D-2000S and SB 105 together?

4 posts
  1. hello group! at present my setup is a sb-105 on oympus c-7070 with patima housing and plan to get anInon D-2000S as my primary, does anyone have an idea if the Inon D-2000S and SB-105 will function together? do i have to change my sync cord or what advice will you give me. thanks in advanced.

  2. Hi,

I havent seen a patima housing for a few years now, but i will assume that it only has one strobe connector. I met the owner of Patima, and he was really helpful with everyones camera gear, so i sure it would be no problem to send the housing to him in Korea and get another sync port added.

My next option would be an Ikelite Y-Cable (the one that is just a port duplicator - as inon use sea and sea cables), not sure if they make them anymore but they do have them on eBay from time to time...

My third would be to use the sb105 in slave mode, but it might not work at high shutterspeeds or long camera-subject distances. You could try to make a long fibre optic sync cord from one strobe to the other, but i think it would be a pain to use.

  3. Hi Neil

I used an SB105 on slave setting with an Inon Z220 as the master with my Subal ND10 housing and a Nikon D100. No problems. It can be a bit annoying if a nearby photographer's strobe fires the SB105 - but if it does, may be I was too close!

  4. thanks for the advice guys. am reviewing the sync cords offered by ikelite.
