What a way to start the new year.. Tested out the new Olympus C-5050 in the Keys.. Had a great day with the occassional 7ft swell (luv it!) and, besides seeing all the critters below, I saw an ~8 ft. Manta. Wow!
Here are some shots taken with the C-5050. A writeup/review on its use is in the works.
All shots we taken with the C-5050 native lens. No external lenses were used.

Wow Laz, those are amazing shots! And this is your first time out with that camera???!!!
I think it was brilliant of Olympus to offer the "slave flash" option finally. Now they can truly compete in the UW market w/ the Coolpix and your photos show it admirably.
I especially like the lighting on the snapper.
Cheers

Great shots!! And great macro ability!
Just for appreciation the macro, what is the size of the nudybrance? Is it a full frame or a crop?
Agreed. Extremely clear.
Have you any shots using the super macro mode?

Well done Laz
Olympus have ceratainly led the way in digital and this new camera ensures they will stay up there whilst awaiting completion of their DSLR.

The nudibranch was approx. 1 inch in size. No cropping was done to any of the photographs. Both the nudibranch and the Christmas tree worm shots were taken in Super Macro mode. The Goldentail Moray was also shot with the camera in Super Macro mode but the distance to the subject was not as close as what the Super Macro setting is capable of (1 inch).
I will be posting the first (of two) parts on a review/opinion writeup on the C-5050 and PT-015 housing--hopefully tonight.
