  1. Anyone know the difference? I own the type M and will look at anything that will improve the 10 sec RAW write time on my point and shoot. Unfortunately, I'm not certain whether the type H is an upgrade or not. Its labeled high speed. Any thoughts?

  2. It´s supposed to be up to 2-3 times faster than the Standard and Type M so maybe now you have 5 sec to write that RAW or maybe less...

  3. Is type H the correct one for high speed?

  4. Yep.

  5. mucho thanks...or better yet...Muchas Gracias!..just bought one on ebay for $50.

  6. DPreview says about twice as fast, both recording and writing to media. Oly advertises that you can use some 3D effects and other new stuff using their program if you have type "H". It's 49.95 +t&l ($61.72 ground) right now at Fry's Outpost. I just ordered one. I'll let you know. (Now I'll be up to 3Gb, so I guess for all those extra bucks I can do a two day in raw without downloading).

  7. Here's the scoop. I'm testing this this type H card out with 2500mah rechargeables and its consistently giving me about 7 seconds in RAW mode and about 2 seconds in SHQ jpeg mode. The test was done without a flash. With the internal flash and fresh batteries the test was 9 seconds with RAW and 4 seconds with SHQ. Overall... a pretty good test. I would almost guess the CV-V3 batteries will test even better. The 2 seconds on SHQ will give you the ability to shoot fairly fast underwater if you need to. The RAW mode at 7 seconds is something I can live with. Later,

  8. I just got my H card and had very similar results. With flash, including preflash time, RAW took 8 seconds. This is down from 11.5 with the type M card. Certainly not 3 times faster, but an improvement of 3.5 seconds is huge when you're trying to get a second shot and the fish is moving.

  9. Dove with it this weekend. Didn't have to wait for a single shot while the camera yelled busy. I dropped the SHQ back-up and just shot RAW, so I saved about 7 seconds. Huge difference. I went through a gig of shots in half an hour and had to switch to JPEG to squeeze out a couple of last shots.
