An anemonefish aerating eggs, with partner patrolling above.

RAW conversion only, using BreezeBrowser, with no adjustments. Out of all of the converters I tried (C1, Adobe, DPP, BB), BB did the best job with the sunball . I was at 60' or so, and the water was not so calm, which i think helped to break up the searing white sun blob...

Here's another sunball that came out fairly well:

  2. Beautiful shots, Eric!

  3. Very nice, Eric. Fantastic clarity and DOF.

  4. The anemonefish shot doesn't work for me (although the sunburst is excellent).

But I really love the jellyfish shot. It is totally gorgeous.

  5. Great shots, my favourite is also the jellyfish. I think there is too much negative space on the anemonefish photo, but it is still a great shot.

  6. yeah, the point was to illustrate the sunball. i would have cropped it out and presented it alone, but it's better in context.

but i like the photo for behavior stuff (the anemonefish are tending to and protecting the eggs).

  7. As a general comment, I should add that when I comment on Eric's images I judge them by rather harsher criteria than other photographers' work!

Eric, I think that the anemonefish shot would work well with your macro shots of similar - maybe you could develop a photo essay around them?
