I think both of these could've worked out...but they seem off.
Tough subject...practically colorless...
I know this would have been more dramatic if I was level with the subject...sometimes it's tough to do on a vertical face near the bottom. Another annoyance is that the nudibranch on the right has retracted its gills...(by the way, the Navanax chose not to eat this nudibranch...)
Critiques please...I'm curious about your opinions...

I like te first one. Interesting colours and subject, but it suffers from something similar to the one I posted here:
I guess they both have too much empty space on the left and the subject faces right. I'm not sure how to fix that (ther than shoot again), maybe square crop of the right part?
The second one is too flat for my taste.
Technically I think they are great, there is great texture and perfect exposure capturing some unusual color combinations, the inside on pic one looks like leather.
Impact is the issue in both, nothing says bad but nothing says wow either. I think the 1st one would be great if a different critter or fish could be around or in it would really have better impact. It was a great find just has the wrong critter at the time.
The second one is always hard when shooting down, behavorial shots are great but your right, the angle is tough to give it the impact.
