Pelican padded dividers

  1. The foam in my pelican 1600 needs replacing. I had the Pick-N-Pluck foam before but am considering the padded dividers.

I need to store in the case Ikelite housing, 2 DS-125 strobes, 1 dome port, 1 flat port, and sync cords.

Is anyone using the dividers for similar use? What do you think of them?

  2. I've used dividers in my last two cases, including my current Storm case. I like the flexibility and protection provided. I generally place the dividers to provide tight packing, but often stuff a t-shirt or towels in to solidify the mass when necessary. I think, but don't know for sure, that using dividers will provide more space. I've never used the pick n' pluck.

  3. Also doesn't degrade when it gets wet and can be washed easily etc.

Had my padded velcro pellican case for 6 years almost.

If it wasn't for Damn American Security Inspectors in Miami the case and padding are in perfect condition (with stolen air pressure release valve and Broken lock holes, enough ranting)

you can't beat them get them, you just need to be able to fill the case well. or pack empty spaces.

  4. I have peli dividers in both my storm cases as well. Works great.Mark

  5. I have both and the dividers are definately a better option except that the foam hugs your gear a little better. But the dividers provide more room and you can stuff with a t-shirt if need be.

  6. Ok, you guys convinced me to go with the dividers.

Took a long time to squeeze everything in, but I did manage to fit everything that was in the case before + an 8" dome and 2 strobe chargers, though the configuration requires that I take the handles off the housing (they are still in the case though) and take the strobe arms off of the strobes.

So my case has in it. 1 Ikelite Housing, 2 DS-125 strobes, 2 sinc cords, 2 chargers, 2 2x6" strobe arms, 1 manual controler, 1 6" dome, 1 8" dome, and 1 flat port.

  8. You could fit a t-shirt inside the housing. Or at least a tank-top

  9. He can't store a t-shirt in the housing because he is storing water in it
