The D2x, a thing of beauty.....
I just wanted to post my thoughts on the D2x as a camera (lets for get for a moment who's housing it goes in).
For the past few months I have been using the D2x extensively from New Zealand to the Caribbean to Northeast USA. I have put my camera under many different conditions from rain to snow, to completete sorching sun in the middle of the ocean.
The speed and accuracy of AF and its sensor is astonishing and a welcome feature to my aging eyes. Until now, I have never depended on AF and in the past, used it sparingly. I now can say that I can trust this camera to do as I tell it to…immediately and more important, accurately. The battery system is reliable and like the “bunny†goes on and on and on….I change the battery simply out of habit not necessity.
Falling in love with my D2x? Yo betcha.
I have owned every Nikon from the F2 onward. I always thought that my F5 was if for me. Now I know, the D2x is the sweetest of them all and at 8 frames per second thats something!
The D2x is a pleasure to hold and to use- After much deliberation of price and size I am confident now that I have made the correct choice for the way I work.
The d200 on the other hand is an amazing tool and priced right. It will continue to dominate the market as the most popular and cost effective DSLR out there- with professional results to show off.
For me though, for now and the forceable future- the D2x is my choice.
