ETTL and S6 conectivity

  1. Hi,

A friend of mine has just bought a housing for 350D with a S6 conection and a Subtronic Mini ettl flash. When I saw all that gear, we both screamed, WOOOW COOOL STUFF!!

..... but, after a few minutes we turn our joy into desesperation when we weren't able to fire the flash correctly, even on the manual mode. I have tested all the wires with a multimeter and all the conections are right, so I guess the problem could be that the conections are not in the right place. So, I was wondering if someone in the forums has the right conections scheme between the S6 plug and the Canon hotshoe. Thanks in advance for your help.

  2. don't know if this is relevant to your housing, but in the seacam housing with an s6 connection all the pins in the hotshoe must be present in order to get ettl strobe to fire

edit: here's a link to the article describing the seacam hotshoe connections:

    hope this helps

i did not know that subtronic had an ettl compatible strobe for the canon dslr, i thought they only had them for the film slr version of ettl

  3. Thanks for your mail. It is useful, but what I really need is the relationship between the hotshoe and the outside housing flash conector (S6).

    Thanks agian

  4. Subtronic has a new line of ettl (canon) and ittl (nikon) digital compatible flashguns. It seems that they've installed inside a Hendrichs converter.
