  1. That's what I felt like today wearing a full 2.5mm under a 5mm shorty with long sleeves. I kinda looked like Hans & Franz from Saturday Night Live. "I'm here to P..U..M..P.. you up!"

Here are the rest of the shots from today:

This little beauty wasn't sure if she should run away from me or mate with me after I assumed the same swimming position she had while photographing her.

After twenty minutes of laying in the sand this was the best I could do. I tried for a super macro but the little fella wasn't cooperating even after I offered him a condo overlooking the beach and a free dinner at Bennihana.

"I'll get you next time, Gadget. Next time!"

This little itsy-bitsy fella was sooooo cute. Definetely the smallest Arrow Crab I have ever seen. Each of his leg was the thickness of a pin. Good spokesfish for Sprint, I guess.

Shooting the pair is never an easy task because when one is in the perfect position the other one is goofin' off--plus handholding two strobes to angle the light just right means I have to device a headstrap for my camera.

I'm invisible! I love it when I can go in, get a shot of the critter and leave without disturbing him enough where it runs for its life.

A little bit of everything on this little patch of reef. A huge basket star, an azure sponge and a giant green-tip anemone. On the opposite side was a cleaner shrimp and arrow crab inside the anemone.

    Any critique is highly appreciated.

  2. Jeebus Laz, I don't even know where to begin. I nominate you to teach the "lighting" portion of the UW digital class.

    Cheers

  3. Laz you really should get a job as PR for Olympus - These shots are bloody gorgeous! I especially like the Trumpet fish - Spot on!

Thanks, James. I don't know about that lighting job though.. if I do that then everyone is going to know that I actually shoot with those disposable 110 flash cubes.

Thanks for the nice compliment on my photos, Bob.

Here's probably my favorite trumpet fish shot I took last year in the Bahamas. Again with another Olympus -- the C-3040.

  6. Laz, you have certainly made full use of the tools you have. Olympus should be giving you and and all equipment they can just to prove that it's as good as you make it look.

  7. Laz those are some beautiful shots. I'm sure most of us can appreciate your patience with the jawfish. I've spent a lot of time with them in the past. Could you imagine trying to get a framer around one?

Geez... I can imagine that's almost impossible to get that close with a framer. The jawfish would have to be a friend of the family to let you get that close. This is the best I've ever gotten and I'm trying to get a shot that is an inch away (super macro on the Oly 5050).
