  1. After 6 months of dreaming, reading and a lot of input from this forum it finally happened... 2 weeks of diving in Cuba. I know Cuba isn't considered scuba heaven but it certainly has been heavenly for me!

It will take a lot of time to go in detail through all 1500+ RAW images but since you guys/girls have been giving me so much help I wanted to show a few of them asap. They are all JPEGs straight from the camera without any manipulations or cropping. All pictures were taken with the Canon 20D, Ikelite housing, DS50 strobe and 100mm Macro lens on a single dive. Because of message size restrictions I had to scale them down to 400x266 pixels. I will add a few more on a next message and hope to put together a webpage in the coming weeks.

White spotted filefish. Bit too big for the 100mm but still good for head shots

    Bridle cardinalfish???

In Reef Fish ID (Humann/Deloach, p 257) described as having "No markings" whereas this one has clearly white markings behind eye and near tail. Has anyone else seen this before?

  4. Different dive, different lens (35mm f2.0, or 18-55mm kit lens, have to check the RAW image later). These shots give a bit better impression of the abundant soft and hard corals and sponges. Still no cropping or image manipulations. I noticed I can upload bigger pictures if I reduce the JPEG quality setting, which I did here.
