  1. I haven't posted here for at least a year, but I just spent the week hanging out with Eric Cheng at the Kona Classic. I won Best Photojournalist Set, winning a feature set in Sport Diver magazine. My wife won best video as well!

Here are some of my favorites:

  3. Great pics Jeff!

Didn't you win best of show last year? btw - I have met you and your wife a couple times on some S. CA boats...

  4. Great memory. Yes, last year I won Best In Show for this shot:

Posting my response to a PM about the event here for others to benefit:

The Harlequin shimps were a rare find. We dived on boats most of the week with Jack's Diving Locker, who I can't recommend highly enough. They collect, rince and hang your gear every day, and there were tubs on the boats for storing your camera equipment. Every night, they have one-on-one time with the photo pros (this year it was David Fleetham, Marty Snyderman, Eric Cheng, Ty Sawyer and David Baldacchi), which is invaluable. Last year my photography improved every day I was there.

So yeah, I highly recommend this trip.

  5. I posted last years image, then changed it to a link since there were already a bunch of images on this post. What's the ettiquite for posting images on this board? I know that a lot of Europeans are still on dialup, for example, and some boards like you to scale things down and limit the number of images on a post. Thanks, -jl

  6. Jeff - it was fantastic to meet you last week!

The images you inlined are HUGE! You should be able to post images of those dimensions in 1/6 the space. I aim for 40-80KB per image instead 270-500KB each (what yours are).

I'll post a Kona Classic report soon. Been running around trying to get settled here at home.

  7. Jeff,

Very nice gallery. Now I have to put Hawaii on my list of places to in the next few years.

  8. Thanks everyone. Sorry Eric, I'll do better next time.
